Over 130 children from as wide as Doncaster and Cumbria enjoyed Leeds Rhinos star Jamie Jones-Buchanan’s Rugby Skills camp at Stanningley Rugby Club in association with Red Hot World Buffet.
This unique 2-day camp was aimed at 6-14 year olds and was designed to help young players develop every area of their game in a fun and safe environment.
Teh youngsters spent two days with Leeds Rhinos professional coaches learning new skills including, passing, tackling and kicking.
On top of that, the children met Leeds Rhinos stars Jamie Jones-Buchanan, Kallum Watkins, Joel Moon and Kylie Leuluai who all assisted in coaching before the players signed autographs and held a Q and A for the kids.
Jamie Jones-Buchanan commented on the success of the camp:
"The younsgters all had fun, met new people and learnt new skills and that is what these camps and rugby league is all about. It is a really inclusive sport, from all shapes and sizes and all abilities.
"People put time effort and grace into me when I was growing up and that lead me to lead a fortunate rugby league career. Now I am a bit older, it is only fair I give something back amd try and find the next crop of super league talent."
The youngsters will now participate in a match day pitch parade at the Leeds Rhinos v Wigan Warriors match on Friday 2nd May.
