Leeds Rugby Foundation recently hosted the hugely successful Leeds South and Central School Sports Partnership Year 5 and 6 Tag Rugby Festival involving 11 Schools at Hunslet Warriors ARLFC.
The 15 Primary Schools who took part were as follows: Ingram, Hugh Gaitskell, Rothwell St Marys, Blackgates, Middleton, Hunslet St Joseph x 3, Westerton, Morley St Francis, Hunslet Moor, Beeston St Francis x3, Drighlington, Cottingley, Robin Hood and Sharp Lane.
Jonny Wainhouse Community Manager at Leeds Rugby Foundation commented: “A huge thank you must go to Helen Holdsworth (South Schools Games Organiser) who has been a huge help with regard to co-ordinating this event. This has come from our healthy partnership with Active Schools Programme in the city. Thanks must also go to Hunslet Warriors who facilitated the event. Hopefully on the back of this event, this will direct young players to this community club. The top teams, Westerton, Beeston St Francis, Middleton and Morley St Francis have progressed to the city wide finals and we wish them all the best of luck.”
