LRF TV: KEITH SENIOR AND BARRIE McDERMOTT GO HEAD TO HEAD

Leeds Rhinos legends Keith Senior and Barrie McDermott may have been teammates on the rugby field, but that friendship counts for nothing as the pair push themselves to the limit in preparation to go head to head in the Leeds Rugby Foundation’s ‘Run with the Rhinos’ team.

In a mock re-take of the famous Rocky Balboa films, the friends turned foes, have put their rugby exploits to one side in order to star in a unique ‘Run with the Rhinos’ film that displays their intense training ahead of the Asda Foundation Leeds 10k race on Sunday 14th July.

Senior who is now making a difference in the community as Leeds Rugby Foundation's Community Development Officer and McDermott who is an active supporter of the Foundation, are both fundraising for Leeds Rugby Foundation.

To donate to both Keith Senior and Barrie McDermott’s Run with the Rhinos fundraising page – Text RWTR13 plus your amount £1, £2, £3, £4, £5 or £10 and send it to 70070.

All proceeds raised will allow Leeds Rugby Foundation to change even more lives through sport.

Everyone's favourite mascot Ronnie the Rhino will also be running as part of the 'Run with the Rhinos' team and Keith

Senior commented that Ronnie the Rhino has been a major influence in training.

“The training has been intense. Both myself and Barrie have had our work cut out these last few weeks training alongside Ronnie the Rhino. He is a fantastic training partner and he has really pushed us to the limit.

“One thing I would advise the rest of the Run with the Rhinos team though, is to avoid wearing tight shorts on race-day. I will certainly voice that strongly at the pre-race pasta meal before getting down to business on 14th July.”

Barrie McDermott commented: “Keith is a tough cookie, but we have fed off each other’s energy and I am feeling fresh and confident.

“Although we are going head to head, the main aim is to raise as much money as possible for Leeds Rugby Foundation. I urge everyone to donate something towards a great cause that will help change lives through sport.”

So it’s Keith Senior v Barrie McDermott – who do you think will win?
