LRF Masters Festival to support STATE OF MIND & BLUE SEPTEMBER

Both Leeds Rugby Foundation and Huddersfield’s Foundation, piloted a Masters Festival in Huddersfield and invited both Leeds and Huddersfield clubs to enter a teams.

It falls in line with a campaign called Blue September that is directed by the Mens Health Forum – so we asked players to get in the spirit by wearing something blue or painting blue stripes on their faces to raise awareness of various mens health issues.

It also fell in line with State of Mind – Round 27 that all Super League Clubs supported. State of Mind tee shirts were worn by Leeds and Huddersfield players on their warm up.
It was the morning of the scheduled Huddersfield Giants vs Leeds Rhinos fixture – so all Masters players were given a free ticket into the game that afternoon.

Commenting on the Day Sam Horner Leeds Rhinos Community Development Officer said “ The event was well received by all the masters players and many commented on how more awareness of mens health is needed and this event enlightened that. We at Leeds were well looked after my Laura Hanson Huddersfield Community Manager and a return trip to Leeds will be planned for such a great event."

The project comes under the Health strand of Leeds Rugby Foundation and many more Health projects will be developed in the forthcoming year.
