Leeds Rugby Foundation & The Rhinos Academy help the Poppy Appeal

Three members of the Leeds Rhinos Academy and Leeds Rugby Foundation coach Jonny Wainhouse took part in a climbing challenge this week to raise awareness for the launch of the British Legions 2011 Poppy Appeal.

Each year, in early November some 30,000 Legion volunteers take to the streets with poppies and collecting boxes, raising millions of pounds for the Poppy Appeal.
The money collected at this time, and from numerous other fundraising activities throughout the year, goes to providing help and support to serving and ex-Service men and women and their dependants.

The guys were up against members of the cadets at the launch of the Poppy Appeal by the Pudsey and Farsley Branch of the British Legion. Normally Jamie Peacock attends each year but England commitments prevented him from being there, although Jimmy Watson, Matthew Nicholson and Clayton Stott did a great job in his absence.
