Leeds Rugby Foundation continue to make impact on girls rugby in Leeds

Leeds Rugby Foundation (LRF) recently continued their fantastic work in the community, changing lives through sport, by holding a Touch Rugby Festival at Kippax ARLFC for girls.

As part of Leeds Rugby Foundation's Rugby League Development Plan for Leeds, which aims to get youngsters involved in sport from the youngest of ages, LRF welcomed seven schools to take part in the festival, with many particpating for the very first time.

Teams from Roundhay High, Royds High, John Smeaton Academy, Temple Moor High, Allerton High, Brigshaw High and Morley Academy all enjoyed the unique experience.

After a hard-fought, yet enjoyable festival, the final was contested between Royds and Roundhay with the game ending in a draw meaning both school’s went home as joint winners.

Danny Burton a representative of Kippax ARLFC commented on the success of the day: “It was a great day and we are glad all the girls had a great time at a Leeds Rugby Foundation event supported by Kippax. We love seeing all the kids having fun and despite the two school's sharing the trophy, all the girls were winners!”
