Leeds Rhinos Foundation scoop top award at Leeds Sports Awards

Leeds Rhinos Foundation were recognised for their work by jointly winning the new Inclusivity Champion Award and Leeds Rhinos Wheelchair players James Simpson and Nathan Collins won the Disability Sportsman award.

Leeds Rhinos Under-18s won Team Performance of the Year at the 20th Anniversary Leeds Sports Awards, held at New Dock Hall, with 450 people in attendance. The other big award winners, for Outstanding Service to Sport, were Leeds Rhinos Netball’s assistant coach and Leeds Athletic coach Maggie Birkinshaw alongside John Baron, athletics coach at Leeds Beckett University.

The awards celebrate the sporting and wellbeing achievements of athletes, coaches, administrators and volunteers from across the city during 2022, with 17 awards presented, hosted by Tanya Arnold and Jamie Jones Buchanan.

The awards are organised by Sport Leeds with the support of event partners Leeds City Council and Leeds Beckett University, with sponsors Leeds Trinity University, Leeds Sixth Form College and Blacks Solicitors.
