Last week, Leeds Rhinos Netball joined forces with Leeds Rhinos Foundation and Woodhouse Grove School to deliver our second Residential Camp, following the success of 2023.
The residential, designed for aspiring netball players in school years 7 to 10, took place at Woodhouse Grove from Monday 12th August to Thursday 15th August.
Over the course of four days, participants received expert guidance from our highly qualified coaches, focusing on skill development, footwork patterns, technical skills, strength and conditioning, and match play. The camp concluded with a tournament that allowed players to showcase their skills.
Attendees also benefitted from position-specific workshops that enhanced their understanding of the game. These sessions included technical tips from the coaching team and a performance analysis session led by Netball Super League player, Amelia Hall. Additionally, Foundation staff conducted an “Ahead of the Game” workshop, which delved into mental health and mindset.
We were thrilled to have staff members from our Official Health Partner, Nuffield Health, join us to lead a strength and conditioning session in the school’s gym.
In addition to the on-court activities, players engaged in various challenges designed to promote teamwork and fun throughout the week.
At the end of the 3 days, all players and their parents and guardians were invited to join us for our presentation, which celebrated the success and achievements of all who attended.
We would like to say a huge thank you to our dedicated staff and coaches for their outstanding work in making this residential camp a success, and well done to all of the players!
