Leeds Rhinos Foundation launch summer programme Keep Doing Good 2020

Last year, Leeds Rhinos Foundation won the contract to deliver National Citizen Service (NCS) to thousands of young people from across the local region aged 16 and 17.

The NCS experience will give participants the opportunity to develop the confidence and skills they need to become more engaged with their communities and become active and responsible citizens, whilst having an amazing, action-packed experience.

Over the last four months the team at Leeds Rhinos Foundation have been keeping in touch with the young people signed up to the NCS programme and are now preparing for the next phase of the programme to offer young people the opportunity to play a role in making a positive impact in their home towns.

With the country starting to get back on its feet, and lockdown slowly being lifted, everyone – from national organisations to local food banks, charities to corner shops, your neighbours to care homes – is going to need a little more help to get back to whatever ‘normal’ is going to be.

The NCS Keep Doing Good 2020 programme will offer young people to help get the country back to business, once it’s safe to do so.

Anyone interested in getting involved need to make a pledge to donate some of their time over July and/or August through volunteering opportunities that NCS have on offer. This could be based on what local communities need and involve setting up a social action project. However volunteers choose to help, they will pick up new skills, help rebuild local communities, create positive change and get all of our futures off to a good start.

Sounds good right? Sign up today and state when you’re available, and the NCS team get in touch as soon as we can with opportunities to get involved with.
