Leeds City College v Warrington Collegiate

Leeds City College Rugby League

Leeds City College got their season off to winning ways after a strong display against a determined Warrington Collegiate side.

Both sides started brightly and Warrington went close to scoring before strong running from the Leeds forwards laid the platform for a Martyn Reilly try.

The forwards continued to back this up and make massive metres with each carry, resulting in further tries and an 18-0 lead within ten minutes.

Leeds continued to dominate the game and scored freely for the remainder of the first half, with the score at 42-8 at half time. Warrington then started strong and following repeat sets and two tries, got the score back to 42-20 with still half an hour to play. Leeds then rallied and stand off Zac Lillywhite got control of his team, cutting out errors and going back to the basics that had put them in a commanding first half lead.

Tries from Xavier Martin (3), Harris Stockdale (4), Martyn Reilly (2), Dominic Bamford, Callum Wilkinson, Logan Pitts and 8 conversions from Pitts resulted in an emphatic 64-20 win.
