LEEDS CITY COLLEGE OPEN EVENING TOMORROW

Ben Frankland is a player that developed through the pathway

Leeds City College is running an open evening to allow prospective students to attend and look at courses to help further their education and showcase the pathway to top class rugby league that the college can offer.

The open evening at Leeds City College's Park Lane campus will start at 5pm and last until 7pm. The event aims to give young players the chance to understand the opportunities that can arise from playing rugby for the Leeds City College academy team and highlight some courses that will further their educations after leaving school.

Keith Senior, Leeds Rhinos' Community Development Officer, has recently been appointed the Head Coach of Leeds City College's rugby academy and will be attending the open evening to highlight how great an opportunity it is to play for, and study at, Leeds City College. There is a clear rugby pathway that, with the unique use of the Leeds Rhinos' facilities, allows Leeds City College Academy players that chance to develop and progress to the next level. The Academy get to use the Rhinos' gym, conditioning coach, 3G pitch and combat room which aids their development tenfold.

New Leeds City College Academy Head Coach, Senior said:

"This really is a great opportunity for youngsters to progress their education as well as the added possibility of benefiting and progressing through the player 'pathway' at Leeds City College. I look forward to greeting many of you on Tuesday!"

The success of the pathway created between Leeds City College and Leeds Rhinos is highlighted through Ben Frankland who progressed from the Leeds City College Academy to sign a contract with the Rhinos.
