SALARY: £21,000 Full Time 'All Year Round'
CONTRACT LENGTH: 12 Months (fixed term – subject to funding)

Leeds Rhinos Foundation is Leeds Rhinos' official charity. We work in the heart of the community harnessing the power of sport to make a lasting and positive impact on individuals' lives.
Leeds Rugby Foundation have developed an exciting Education project called 'TryZone' which makes use of Leeds Rhinos Foundation's expertise and resources, together with the skills of partners to reduce risk taking and anti-social behaviour, improve emotional and physical health and wellbeing, improve confidence and enhance employability prospects among groups of disadvantaged young people.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who has experience of delivery/tutoring to join a well-established successful team and be responsible for hands on delivery of education projects and to help shape how this programme develops. The successful candidate will plan and manage the delivery of sessions to the young people who will attend making use of the facilities available via the professional rugby team Leeds Rhinos. They will be able to inspire youngsters from a variety of backgrounds to make positive changes to their own lives using a creative, innovative approach, but be able to balance thinking outside the box, with effective time manangement and an ability to meet objectives.
This project is a real opportunity for an individual who shares our passion for learning and motivating non-traditional learners through activity and sport.
They will be enthusiastic and adaptable individual with plenty of experience working with diverse groups of learners. The successful candidate would also recognise the value in utilising available resources in the club to inspire and motivate young people and aduts to achieve
JOB PURPOSE:
To design resources for, and deliver innovative sessions to groups of young people across different age groups within a classroom/sporting setting, based mainly at the world famous Headingley Carnegie Stadium. You will also work with the young people's families in workshop settings and informally to produce better outcomes for the whole family and to make results sustainable.
You will lead on the delivery of daytime and Out of School learning projects and may be asked to deliver some accredited learning. You will have the ability to teach in a group setting, on a one to one basis and support pupils who have a range of learning needs.
You will have, and further develop the skills to work alongside challenging cohorts of learners who can have complex issues creating barriers to learning. You will also have a flexible and friendly approach to teaching. In addition to key educational outcomes you will work with the young people to help them develop their soft skills, coping mechanisms, confidence and ability to make friends.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- You will support learners with their learning needs and liaise with the Project Manager, schools, colleagues within Leeds Rhinos Foundation and Leeds Rugby, multi-agencies and other external partners as well as the young people's families
- To be aware of safeguarding and child protection procedures and to report as necessary as appropriate to the role
FOR FOUNDATION PROJECT DEVELOPMENT
- To familiarise yourself with developments in transition learning, school agendas, awarding bodies and related quality assurance demands
- Play a key role in contributing to the continual improvement of the service's quality assurance performance
- Ensure lesson planning, marking, ILPs, reviews, resources are up to date and of a high standard
- Attend and contribute to all relevant meetings both internally and externally
FOR RESOURCES
- To be responsible for any equipment/resources linked to this role
- To develop off the shelf resources to support delivery of learning outcomes to pupils, to include 1:1 and group work.
- To contribute to reports, Self Assessment Reports, Business Plans
FOR HEALTH AND SAFETY
To promote, monitor and maintain health safety and security in the working environment
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- This is not a 9-5 position. The project will be delivered during and outside of school hours; therefore the successful candidates will need to be flexible with their working hours.
