On the 17th June, our good friends at JB Andrews will be taking on the Yorkshire 3 Peaks, raising money for Leeds Rhinos Foundation as well as local mental health charity, Leeds Mind.
As a business, JB Andrews participate in various charitable events throughout the year, usually pushing one in particular as they marquee fundraiser. Last year, the company’s Leeds teams exceeded all expectations in raising over £4,000 for Movember, the hope is to hit a similar number this year for both charities.
The team have previously taken part in several Mind fundraising initiatives, Blue Monday being the most recent, which is why it was an easy decision this year to choose them as partners for this event. Mental health is such an important topic to everyone at JBAndrews and having been in communication with various people at Mind Leeds since the company’s inception, they appreciate the importance and have seen first-hand the fantastic work they do within the local community of Leeds.
Leeds Rhinos Foundation were the very first charity that JB Andrews partnered with, a relationship that started in the first few months of the company operating back in 2018. However, this will be their first time raising money for LRF officially. Our partnership typically involves us joining forces to carry out community projects, the last of which saw us renovate the changing rooms of local rugby league club Seacroft Sharks, and JB Andrews also went on to sponsor their playing kit the following season.
Jeremiah Bavington, Head of Brand and Marketing at JB Andrews, said: “The reason we have decided to include the Foundation in our fundraising efforts this year is to say a huge thank you for facilitating our participation in an 8-part mental health workshop called Offload. Sam Horner in particular has been the key person in enabling us to do this. Without a doubt, it’s been one of the best things we’ve done as a business and has been a great way for us to show our employees that we really do put their mental health and well-being first!
“The footprint and positive impact both of these charities have within the community of Leeds speak for themselves. But, if you could spare any money at all to support us in aiding these great organizations it would be hugely appreciated and widely felt in our local community!”
