This year’s live draw for the Leeds Rhinos Foundation Grand Prize Draw raffle with Jet2holidays is less than 20 days away and our community clubs have once again been selling and buying tickets to receive some of the great benefits on offer.
The Grand Prize Draw is due to take place during half time at the Leeds Rhinos home fixture against Wakefield Trinity Wildcats on 6th April and will send one lucky winner, courtesy of Jet2holidays, to the Sol Katmandu Park and Resort on the Island of Majorca.
As well as the grand prize holiday there are another 19 great prizes on offer and once again, the Leeds Rhinos Foundation are putting money back into the community clubs by offering a 50% cash back incentive to clubs as well as schools and individual sellers who are able to sell 50 tickets.
Last year the Grand Prize draw raised vital funds of over £7,000 for the Leeds Rhinos Foundation to support the work within the community and this year’s raffle has once again received fantastic support from community clubs in the Leeds and beyond, who have been enthusiastically selling raffle tickets to not only raise money for Leeds Rhinos Foundation but thanks to the cashback offer they have also been able to earn funds for their own teams.
One club who benefited last year from selling tickets and earning cash back was Farnley Falcons who were able to raise a total of £350 and this money went to providing a kit for the club’s newly established under 10’s age group.
Jonny Adams a committee member and part of the coaching set up at Farnley Falcons commented: “The sense of identity, pride and team spirit that the kit gave our players was priceless. The fact that £1 from every ticket sold went back into our club meant that we could organise ourselves and set a target which was known and understood by all.
“Beyond the financial benefits, having our club name attached to something the Leeds Rhinos were running gave us a boost. Players and parents were talking to friends, family and colleagues about the Grand Prize Draw and also about Farnley at the same time which has helped us reach further into the community as we look for more players and sponsors to get involved with the club.
“In 2015 we continue to grow, with another junior team now established and the potential for a further one in the near future. The Grand Prize Draw will help us buy the specific equipment that this team will require and will stand us in good stead going forward.”
With less than 20 days until the draw there is still plenty of time for clubs, individual sellers, schools and workplaces to get involved in the draw with a chance to win a top prize or gain £50 cash back by selling 50 tickets.
Tickets will be available to purchase on the day of the draw at what will be a great family day out with the game on Easter Monday at an earlier kick off time of 3pm and plenty of pre-match and half time entertainment on offer.
