Leeds Rhinos Foundation is pleased to announce we will be running another Girls Player Development Day on Wednesday 1st June at Leeds Rugby Academy in Kirkstall.
The sessions, which are delivered as part of the award-winning England Talent Pathway Programme, will be open to any Girls in the Under 10s to Under 16s age groups who are looking to improve their core rugby skills and reach their full athletic potential in a professional environment.
There will be two separate sessions held, with one for Under 10s, 11s & 12s in the morning before another designed for Under 13s, 14s & 15s Girls takes place in the afternoon.
Back in April, Leeds Rhinos Foundation delivered a hugely successful Player Development Day during the Easter holidays which was attended by over 30 girls and featured guest appearances from Leeds Rhinos Women stars Alex Barnes and Shannon Lacey, who had a great time joining in the drills, sharing top tips and inspiring the next generation of Women’s Super League players.
With the sessions remaining free of charge for all participants, it provides an incredible chance for the girls to work alongside Leeds Rhinos pathway coaches plus Leeds Rhinos Women’s Head Coach Lois Forsell and members of her Super League squad.
Forsell said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for any aspiring young female rugby players to come and work under the tutorship the Rhinos coaching staff and meet some of their Women’s Super League idols, whilst making use of the Rhinos’ first-class training facilities at Kirkstall.”
“It’s been great to see more and more Girls attending these Player Development Days from many different community clubs across the years and we look forward to working with more players at this upcoming event, which is open to girls looking to continue improving their skills and learn from the best!”
