Fundraising event with Keith Senior, Jamie Jones-Buchanan and Roxy Gallagher

Good luck to Leeds Rhinos TV presenter Roxy Gallagher who is through to the Miss Supermodel England finals, which are being held next month.

Roxy qualified for the finals after winning Miss West Yorkshire earlier this year.  As part of the competition Roxy is fundraising for charity and her chosen charities are Leeds Rhinos Foundation and baby hospice Zoë's Place.

Roxy, who has also danced with the Heart Yorkshire Dance team is being supported in her fundraising efforts by current Leeds Rhinos player, Jamie Jones-Buchanan and former player Keith Senior.  The pair will be joining her for a fundraising event at Emerald Headingley Stadium on November 9.

The Rhinos pair will both speak before doing a question and answer session with fans and guests and there will be a raffle of prizes as well as a pie and pea supper.

Miss Gallagher said: “I have really enjoyed the last year and representing West Yorkshire.  It is great to be able to now raise awareness for two amazing charities.  In my role with Leeds Rhinos TV I have visited many of Leeds Rhinos Foundation’s projects and have seen the incredible work they do to support people across the community.

“Zoë's Place is an independent charity providing palliative, respite and end of life care to babies and infants aged from birth to 5 years suffering from life-limiting or life-threatening conditions.  I hope I am able to raise as much money as possible for these two and I would like to thank Jamie and Keith for their support.”

To pick up other ‘points’ to be added to her final score on the night of the Miss Supermodel England finals she has been doing personal appearances in Leeds at events such as Kirkstall Festival and business openings.

The whole Miss West Yorkshire experience, where she was sponsored by the chief executive officer of the Leeds Rhinos Gary Hetherington, came as a bit of a surprise to her as it was her mother who entered her without telling her.

She said: “I have never done anything like this before. My mum signed me up and then they rang to say I was in the final and I was thrilled.  The Rhinos fans were superb in supporting me for Miss West Yorkshire and it would be great if they could support me again and vote for me.”
