Leeds Rhinos Foundation and Ronnie the Rhino paid a visit to Leeds Building Society’s Head Offices in Leeds last week to promote the upcoming 2019 Grand Raffle Draw.
The Society are a long time supporter of Leeds Rhinos, having served as main shirt sponsor for the past 13 seasons, and kindly invited the club’s official charity to come raise funds by selling tickets for the Grand Raffle Draw, which takes place on Thursday 15th August at Emerald Headingley Stadium.
With Ronnie enjoying the opportunity to pose for plenty of pictures with colleagues, the Society were able to raise almost £400, which will go towards supporting Leeds Rhinos Foundation’s many community-based projects to help ‘Change Lives Through Sport.’
Trevor Garside, Head of Mortgage Services at Leeds Building Society, said, “We have a long running relationship with the Rhinos, so it was great to have Ronnie here yesterday and to see how passionate our colleagues are about supporting the Foundation’s Grand Raffle Draw and a very worthwhile cause.’
Oliver Hutchinson, Customer Liaison Officer, added: “During the past ten months, I’ve also been working as a Charity Events Co-ordinator at Leeds Rhinos Foundation as part of a long-running secondment scheme and I’ve had the opportunity to see the truly inspiring work that the Foundation carry out in the community every day, which will be supported by the Grand Raffle Draw.
“It was great for me to help organise the raffle ticket selling at the Society’s Head Offices, and our motivation to support the Foundation was evident as we beat our target sponsorship amount by well over a hundred pounds! I think this demonstrates that our team recognises how great the Foundation is and want to support its work.”
Buy a ticket for this year’s Grand Raffle Draw for a chance to win some fantastic prizes, including a Hot Tub from Jacuzzi® and a weekend stay with Whitby Holiday Cottages. Tickets cost just £1 and can be purchased from the Leeds Rhinos Club Shop.
All the money donated to Leeds Rhinos Foundation allows the charity to reach out to more people and to provide them with opportunities to join health and further education programmes and develop the continued delivery of projects in partner schools and community clubs.
