Foundation host Volunteer Admin workshop with help from the Yorkshire Junior League

On Monday evening, the Leeds Rhinos Foundation welcomed over 60 volunteers to the Lewis Jones suite, where we held a Volunteer Admin workshop lead by Donna Simons and Ainsley Bennett from the Yorkshire Junior League.

It was great to see so many volunteers coming along to further their understanding of all aspects of club administration. We covered areas such as: player/volunteer coach registrations; match-day team sheets and the transfer and disciplinary process. In total, there were 15 community clubs represented on the night from the Leeds area and beyond.

Community Clubs are predominantly run by hard-working volunteers who’s aim is to provide the best opportunities and experiences for the players coming through their clubs. While the coaches are coaching and the players are training and playing, behind the scenes, there is a lot of admin work which is necessary for every match. This work may sometimes be overlooked on the surface, but most community clubs couldn’t run smoothly without it. Our intention of holding volunteer workshops is to help these volunteers understand their roles and as a result, contribute to the running of a successful club.

We would like to say a massive thank you to Donna and Ainsley for attending and offering their valuable insight.

Next Tuesday, Leeds Rhinos Foundation are hosting a First Aid evening where volunteers will be reminded of Concussion Protocols by a representative from the RFL. There will also be a chance to refresh their CPR knowledge and watch a Defibrillator demonstration. The evening will close with a Mindfulness session.
