Catterick Crusaders raising money for Rhinos Challenge tour kit

Catterick Crusaders Juniors

With the exciting announcement that ESF Events and the Leeds Rhinos Foundation are now offering the Rhinos Challenge Tour Experience at two venues in 2016, we are asking club ambassadors to send in their fundraising stories as we build towards the biggest two junior Rugby League festivals in the United Kingdom next year. This week we are pleased to share Catterick Crusaders story, who are fundraising to help pay for their 2016 tour kit.

Earlier in the year, teams from all over the country made Rhinos Challenge 2015 the biggest ever Rugby League tour experience in the United Kingdom with over 75 clubs and 3,000 people enjoying the festival at Butlins award winning resort in Skegness.

A number of teams were involved in fundraising to buy tour kits and cover tour costs for the May event this year and with the announcement of two festivals for 2016 in Skegness (13th to 16th May) and Blackpool (17th to 20th June) some clubs have started fundraising to give their teams the ultimate tour experience.

One club already fundraising is Leeds Rhinos Foundation Ambassador Club Catterick Crusaders, who are looking to send their under 10s and 12s on their first tour in style with a brand new tour kit.

Catterick Crusaders is one of the North East's most rapidly expanding Rugby League Clubs with players spread over 5 teams from 8 years old to adults. 2015 has seen a player increase of just over 100% from the previous year and we continue to grow with our under 7s project under way.

Jason Grant from the club said:

"We are looking to raise £500 initially to cover the cost of tour playing shirts in bright none club colours for the players. its going great so far with nearly half the amount raised. Should we get more than that, then we will look at purchasing shorts and socks too, or any other item of apparel they want instead – its their tour."

If you would like to help out Catterick in their quest to provide a tour kit for their junior teams , please follow the link and make a donation at

If you have a fundraising story you'd like us to share, send in the details and how to donate and we will share on our Leeds Rhinos Foundation website, Facebook and Twitter accounts.
