AVIVA Schools Rugby Festival

AVIVA Schools Festival

Today saw the final Festival of the hugely successful Aviva schools programme the Leeds Foundation Community team have been running throughout the year.

It was Bramley Phoenix’s time to hold the tournament today and the sun continued to shine throughout the afternoon. Over 60 children competed today all making the short journey to their local rugby club. Bramley, valley view and Stanningley all competed for the much sought after Carnegie TAG Cup!

It was a proud moment for the children, the parents and teachers as well as us to see how all the children have grown in confidence, how they’ve acquired new skills and most importantly how much fun they had today running rings round each other!

In the end the overall winners were Bramley Storm. With some fantastic rugby on display today. Congratulations goes to them, however a huge thank you is saved for all the children who participated.

Leeds Carnegie Player Phil Swainston was there watching the try fest, offering advice and tips to our stars of the future and even had time to help Terry the Terrier out sign all the children’s Certificates!

Well done to all the teams that took part. Thank you to all the teachers, parents and Helpers and a special thank you to Bramley Phoenix and Jane Johnson the head of the junior section for letting us use their facilities.
