Leeds Rhinos Foundation is recruiting a Charity Accountant who will report directly to the Head of Operations and be specifically responsible for accounting for the charity.
Leeds Rhinos Foundation aim to deliver projects in the heart of the community by harnessing the power of sport to make a lasting, positive impact on individuals' lives.
The Leeds Rhinos Foundation delivers a range of projects under five objectives of Education, Health, Sport, Arts and Heritage.
The Charity Accountant will report directly to the Head of Operations and be specifically responsible for accounting for the Leeds Rhinos Foundation, a charitable company with income currently in excess of £1m and employing over 40 staff. The successful applicant will be fully experienced in the charity sector and understand the Charities commission reporting rules.
Main Areas of Responsibility
- Leeds Rhinos Foundation
– To be responsible for the financial control and administration of all aspects of Leeds Rhinos charitable ventures.
– Preparation of monthly management accounts
– Monthly 12 month rolling cash flow forecast
– Annual budget preparation
– Weekly management meetings with Executive Team to advising on current funding streams and provide advice
– Year end audit preparation including liaising with the auditors.
– Preparation and validation of all Grant applications including ongoing reporting to the relevant bodies.
– Compliance with VAT accounting rules for charities including quarterly return, partial exemption and an understanding of the Capital Goods Scheme
– Compliance with Charities commission reporting rules
- Control Account reconciliations
– Quarterly control account reconciliations
- Ad Hoc projects for both Leeds Rhinos Foundation and Leeds Rugby
- Match Day cash management
– Attendance at Rhinos and Carnegie fixtures & ad hoc stadium events on a rota basis with the rest of the finance team to facilitate event day cash management
This is a full time role working 40 hours per week, which will be based at Headingley Carnegie Stadium, St Michael’s Lane, Headingley, Leeds, LS6 3BR with a requirement to work match days which may fall on weekends or evenings. The salary for the role is dependent on your skills, experience and current qualifications.
