Leeds Carnegie Community Manager

The next few weeks sees some major events coming up in the Leeds Carnegie community calendar.

Last night saw Leeds Carnegie Community Manager, Adam Blades and Carnegie player, Harry Casson visit Dinnington rugby club to lead a session mainly on defence for the clubs U13 side. Having signed up for the Leeds Carnegie club affiliation scheme the U13’s were treated to an indoor video session before they ventured outside to take part in a defence contact session with Harry passing on the recent skills he has learnt since becoming a Leeds Carnegie player.

Sunday 9th March will see Adam visit Sandal rugby festival which has become a firm fixture in the Carnegie community calendar. Adam along with first team players will be visiting the festival to lend support and cast an eye over the talent currently playing within Yorkshire rugby.

The following two Wednesdays will see the continuation of the club's ‘coach the coaches’ sessions. The ever popular events will see part of the clubs coaching staff travel to Pontefract rugby club to run a line out masterclass, involving video analysis and an outdoor session with Pontefract’s U17’s side to further enhance the knowledge of rugby coaches throughout Yorkshire. The masterclass sessions are open to all and are a free of charge event.

Leeds Carnegie Community Manager, Adam Blades said: “The masterclass events are a great way for local community club coaches to enhance their coaching knowledge and pick up some new skills that will benefit themselves and, in turn, benefit the players that they are coaching. I'd strongly encourage local coaches to sign up for these masterclass sessions, as the skills that they will learn will help them tenfold.”
