Community Clubs across the country who used the 50% cashback incentive from selling tickets in this year’s Grand Prize Draw with Jet2Holidays have been putting their money raised to good use over the last month, with a combined amount of over £3000 going back to clubs from this year’s draw.

The Leeds Rhinos Foundation Grand Prize Draw with Jet2Holidays raffle was officially drawn on Easter Monday, seeing lucky top prize winner Kathryn Morgan collect a Four Star Family holiday to the Sol Katmandu Resort and Park on the Island of Majorca and with the 50% cash back incentive for clubs selling raffle tickets, a number of community clubs have also benefited from some extra clubs funds this year.

A host of community clubs, many of which are part of the Leeds Rhinos Foundation Ambassador Scheme, took part in selling raffle tickets for the draw, with Oulton Raiders, Driglington, Leeds Underdogs and Shawcross Sharks all receiving well over £200 pounds and top sellers Leeds Irish receiving £317 from ticket sales.

In total 2480 tickets were sold by clubs during the raffle, with 24 clubs all receiving some cash back from the incentive, including four clubs who will be able to put the funds towards their Rhinos Challenge tour costs this weekend at Butlins in Skegness; with Sussex Merlins, Birkenshaw Juniors, Upton ARLFC and Limehurst Lions, all making the trip from their respective counties for the event.

This year’s draw saw over 20 people selected to win a top prize as part of the raffle, with prizes including dining and leisure experiences, event tickets and sporting memorabilia, raising over £9,000 for the Leeds Rhinos Foundation.

The eventual total raised was only possible due to the efforts of the community clubs, individual sellers, trustees, staff and schools, who all sold and bought tickets on behalf of the Leeds Rhinos Foundation and everyone at the many events and locations around Leeds including the White Rose Shopping Centre, Morrisons, ASDA and Leeds Building Society and during club ambassador meetings.

General Manager for the Leeds Rhinos Foundation, Davide Longo commented:

“The Leeds Rhinos Foundation would like to thank everyone who took part in the raffle from the shops and businesses allowing us to come and sell on site, to the individuals who took books from us to sell tickets and expressly to the clubs and schools who sold tickets on our behalf as well.

“As a non-profit organisation, fundraising is a huge part of our yearly budget that helps us to go out and promote Rugby League development but importantly supports our work in the community to change lives through sport. With the clubs who have been able to earn some cash back as part of the raffle, everyone connected to their rugby league club is a winner this year as well.”
