Leeds Rhinos Strength and Conditioning Coach and former player Ian Kirke will be joined by Leeds Rhinos Head of Athletic Performance Jason Davidson for the final Coach Education Workshop of the year at Leeds Rugby Academy on 20th September
Coach Education which is part of the charity's Rugby League Development plan sponsored by Mears, provides community coaches with current and professional coaching information, techniques and opportunities to see members of the Rhinos playing and coaching staff deliver example coaching sessions.
2017 has already seen Leeds Rhinos stars Adam Cuthbertson and Rob Burrow provide insight into areas of the game with special workshop appearances earlier in the year, along with kicking and position specific workshops led by Rhinos Assistant Coach Barry Eaton and the programme will now focus on the strength and conditioning elements of the game for academy level players.
The session will include an opportunity to hear from former Rhinos Prop forward Ian Kirke on the best practice for building a rugby league body for younger players and an opportunity to take part in a Q&A.
Community Clubs Development Officer Sam Horner said:
“We’ve had another fantastic year providing the Coach Education programme with some very good insight from the Leeds Rhinos playing and coaching staff once again and lots of engagement for our community clubs.
“The strength and conditioning workshop we now run every year and it is always a very useful session for players and coaches but also parents who want to stay informed about up to date advice on healthy, safe and professional conditioning for young growing players, so we encourage anyone interested to come along and take part.”
Coaches are asked to arrive at 6.45pm where they will be met by Sam Horner and staff members to register with the session starting at 7.00pm and finishing at 8.30pm.
To book a place on the workshop please email Sam.Horner@leedsrhinosfoundation.org leaving your name, address, club you coach at and the age group.
