Rhinos help bring a smile to young fans with hospital visit

Members of the Leeds Rhinos men’s and women’s team helped spread some festive cheer with the club’s annual Christmas visit to the Leeds Children’s Hospital.

Players from both squads joined Leeds Rhinos Foundation staff in visiting the children’s wards to give out gifts and chat to young fans, many of whom will be in hospital over the festive period.

Rhinos star Adam Cuthbertson also raised nearly £1000 from his annual Cuthbo’s Christmas Crackers project which raises money by donating kit from the players for fans to purchase. This year he raised a record amount to buy toys which were also given out at the hospital. These gifts were given to children who are recovering from operations and also available in ward play rooms.

New star signing, England international Luke Gale commented, “Occasions like this are always very special and it is great that we can show our support for the youngsters and their families at this time of year and the hard working NHS staff.

As a father myself, you can only imagine how tough it must be for the families and if we can help put a smile on the kids faces with our visit than that is brilliant.”
