Leeds Rhinos Foundation are offering support for young people aged 16+ who are not in education, employment or training, through an education project aimed to help them make positive changes in their lives.
The Off the Bench project, sponsored by Asda Foundation, is a six-week course held at Headingley Carnegie Stadium and involves indoor and outdoor activities that help build confidence and self-esteem whilst learning new skills and working as a team.
The course has already made a positive impact on previous attendees, such as Stacey, 25, who said: “Attending the Leeds Rhinos Foundation 'Off the Bench' course has been a blast every week. Going to the sessions at TryZone was something I looked forward to and every week and it helped me realise I can achieve anything if I put my mind to it.”
Over the six-week course attendees will cover:
- Communication
- Aspirations
- Relationships
- Risk taking and behaviours
- Overcoming barriers
- Problem Solving
- Choices
- Team Work
The course is free to attend and Leeds Rhinos Foundation will provide £4 transport cost and lunch.
