Yorkshire School triumph in the annual War of the Roses school rugby competition

Yorkshire schools once again triumphed in the annual War of the Roses competition run in partnership with Wigan Warriors Foundtion

Yesterday we went to Wigan and played in the 2017 War of the Roses competition run in partnership with Wigan Warriors Foundation.
 
Tommy Gallagher welcomed us with teams from Y7-9.
 
Representing Leeds:
 
Y7- Corpus Christi 32 v Deanery 32 (Corpus Christi won in Golden Point- Try scored by Gloria)
Y8- DYCA 28 v St Peter’s 36 (DYCA were losing 24-4 at half time and managed to pull it back)  
Y9- Corpus Christi 48 v Holy Name 0
 
Leeds won the series 2 – 1 meaning they take the War of the Roses Trophy back to Leeds for another year.
 
In 2016 Leeds also won with Farnley and Corpus Christi completing a 2 – 1 series win.
 
Next year we welcome the Wigan Schools to Leeds.
