An exciting new volunteer role is available with Leeds Rhinos Foundation to help support the charity’s Work Club attendees with online Job searches, creating CVs and covering letters to assist in building job searching skills and finding employment opportunities.
Department: Leeds Rhinos Foundation, Headingley Stadium
Hours per week: Between 1:00-3:30pm every Wednesday, currently (although this may be subject to change in the future).

Overview of the Role
To help support Work Club attendees with online Job searches, creating CVs and covering letters and signposting to other services where appropriate.
To help Work Club attendees to use computers to meet their information needs and gain skills and confidence.
Key activities
– To display a helpful, friendly and courteous attitude to attendees, visitors and colleagues.
– To support attendees with registering on job sites, online job searches, producing a CV and cover letters.
– To help provide attendees with a set of skills in order to job search – helping people to learn how to fill out online forms, use Word to complete a CV etc. The focus of the Work Club is to help people to help themselves and volunteers are expected to help attendees learn skills in order to search and apply for jobs themselves.
– To provide one-to-one/small group help on using computers: typical assistance may include assisting with basic internet searching, helping fill in online forms, help with desktop applications, help setting up online accounts e.g. Universal Jobmatch and Gmail.
Person specification
We are looking for volunteers who:
– Have good practical experience of using computers
– Adopt a friendly, welcoming approach
– Have excellent interpersonal skills – including the ability to question sensitively and patiently
– Are able to engage with a wide range of people
– Are comfortable taking the initiative to approach people and offer assistance
– Have some understanding of recruitment and the employment and training environment
– Can observe and implement guidelines of the Data Protection Act – whilst working at Leeds Rhinos Foundation may be using attendee’s personal details. In order to comply with the Data Protection Act 1998 it is important that personal information regarding attendees is never stored by you, given to other attendees or taken out of the Work Club building in any format e.g. digital, paper etc.
