TryZone launch new Health and Wellbeing programmes for 16-24 year olds

TryZone Education Centre at Headingley Carnegie Stadium

Leeds Rhinos Foundation’s Off the Bench programme sponsored by Asda Foundation will be starting a brand new 6-week project designed to educate young people about the benefits of healthy lifestyles on the 4th May.

The sessions, which are free to attend are available to young people aged 16-24 offering a six-week insight into the key areas relating to maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle.

Split between classroom based sessions at the TryZone Education Centre at Headingley Carnegie Stadium and off-site physical activity sessions focussing on some of the principles covered during the programme, delivery takes a holistic approach to promoting healthy lifestyle choices to get educated about health, nutrition and physical activity.

During the programme attendees will spend half the time on the programme learning from Leeds Rhinos Foundation Health Professionals about basic diet and nutrition principles including, the eat well plate, sugar and salt content, alcohol and hydration, food labelling and food for the family.

The second half of delivery will then focus on physical activity and exercise, working through a number of off-site, fun activities that work on the physical techniques to maintain fitness and health.

The sessions will run from 10am-3pm on Wednesdays at the TryZone Education Centre located at Headingley Carnegie Stadium
