Wear Red Day is back for its 3rd year running on February 6th to raise awareness and raise money for the Children’s Heart Surgery Fund
Yorkshire and beyond will be turning red on Friday to help raise awareness of Congenital Heart Disease and raise some much needed funds for the Children’s Heart Surgery Fund with the businesses, organisations and schools all making valuable donations.
In 2014, over 120 schools and businesses in the Yorkshire, Humberside and North East Lincolnshire regions kindly supported Wear Red Day in February 2014 and in return raised over £32,000.
This money was used to refurbish the Paediatric Cardiology Ward & High Dependency Unit in the Children’s Hospital at Leeds General Infirmary that the Leeds Rhinos players visited at Christmas in their annual LGI Children’s Hospital visit.
Stars from the Leeds Rhinos first team including Andy Yates, Stevie Ward, Rob Burrow, Joel Moon and Carl Ablett have also been involved in raising awareness of the Friday’s event by taking part in the official CHSF video that can be seen below:
All money raised this year will again go towards supporting the Leeds Congenital Heart Unit and you can get involved by texting CHSFO1 £5 TO 70075 or making a donation directly to https://www.justgiving.com/chsf/?utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=socDirdesktop&utm_content=chsf&utm_campaign=post-direct-donation-desktop
