With many Christmas parties cancelled this year due to the Covid-19 pandemic, charities are calling on businesses to donate the unused cost of their party towards a charity.
Leeds Rhinos Foundation are one of the charities who could benefit from the Christmas Party Heroes initiative which has been set up to support charities this festive season.
All money raised via Xmas Party Heroes can help Leeds Rhinos Foundation to continue their vital work in the community to change lives through sport.
Tracey Mearns, Business Development and Partnerships Manager at Leeds Rhinos Foundation, said: “This has been a challenging year for many charities with the fundraising events that they rely on cancelled. The XMas Party Heroes initiative is a fantastic one, with the potential to make a huge difference and offer a vital lifeline for many charities!
“If 24 companies, the equivalent to each of the 24 days before Christmas when parties would have taken place, each donated £250 then that is £6,000 which could support the delivery costs of our charity’s projects, such as Rhinos Active Social which aims to engage the older community across Leeds in activities to improve their physical, mental and social wellbeing or our Physical Disability and Learning Disability teams which have made such a positive impact on those who play for them.”
