Study BTEC Sports Courses with Leeds Rhinos Foundation and Askham Bryan

The course will take place at Headingley Carnegie Stadium

Students looking to gain a level 2 or 3 BTEC qualification in Sports Coaching, Development and Fitness from September 2017 can find out more about a new programme offered from the Leeds Rhinos Foundation in partnership with Askham Bryan College with a series of open nights available at Headingley Carnegie Stadium.

Starting in September 2017, courses including a Level 2 Diploma and Level 3 BTEC, will provide an ideal qualification for anyone interested in a career in sport, with the course content meeting the demanding requirements of the sports industry and an exciting opportunity to learn and work within a world class international sports setting at Headingley Carnegie Stadium.

Students will study a range of topics that open up a huge number of potential opportunities, ranging from coaching and instructor jobs and sports coordinator roles, through to business, marketing and event management, providing the necessary skills to continue studying in Higher Education.

In addition to this there are opportunities for students to play for the college teams in all sports, which offer students the opportunity to combine academic sporting qualifications with practical skills development, coaching and competitive fixtures, while gaining a comprehensive overview of the sports industry.

Alongside regular tuition from course tutors, the course will also include guest lectures from industry professionals throughout the programme, who will provide first-hand knowledge and experience of working in the sports industry.

Open nights for the course will be taking place every month until June next year at the TryZone Education Centre at Headingley Carnegie Stadium for an opportunity to speak with tutors about the course content and options of study. Staff will also be on hand to discuss any additional requirements such as travel, finance and support needs.
