Run/Walk with the Rhinos or Fly with the Hawks at this year’s Asda Foundation Leeds 10k

Harry Hawk and Ronnie the Rhino in training at South Leeds Stadium

The Leeds Rhinos and Hunslet Hawks have announced a race showdown between club mascots for this year’s Asda Foundation Leeds 10k with Ronnie the Rhino and Harry Hawk reigniting their friendly race rivalry for the race on Sunday 12th July to raise money for the clubs’ charity foundations.

Ronnie the Rhino and Harry Hawk met for some training in May at South Leeds Stadium, as they started to get in shape for this year’s race, and the pitch-side crowd pleasers are urging as many runners as possible this year to join in the with ‘Run/Walk with the Rhinos’ team or Hunslet Hawks Foundation on the 12th July.

Both teams will be raising money that goes towards developing the community and supporting both clubs’ valuable work across the city with vital funds all going back to the Leeds Rhinos Foundation and the Jane Tomlinson Appeal as part of the ‘Run/Walk with the Rhinos’ and the Hunslet Rugby Foundation with the Hunslet Hawks team.

This year will see some great race headliners with club legends such as Hunslet legend Mick Coyle joining the Hunslet Hawks team and Jamie Peacock MBE heading up the Run/Walk with the Rhinos team, along with Barrie McDermott and Leeds Rhinos Foundation Vice President and actor Matthew Lewis, all taking part in the popular event this year.

For the club mascots, training is well underway and Ronnie and Harry are looking forward to seeing a great turnout from both charities this year at the event.

There are many benefits on offer this year when fundraising for either the Hunslet Hawks Foundation or the Leeds Rhinos Foundation and with over a month until the event, there is plenty of time to sign up and show your support.
