After three Leeds Rhinos multi-sport camps, Rob Burrow’s Hot Shot passing challenge has been hotting up with six campers announced as age group winners winning rugby balls and the race for overall Hot Shot leader board separated by just 15 points.
For the first time in 2017, Leeds Rhinos Foundation have offered children on multi-sports camps the chance to take on Leeds Rhinos star Rob Burrow with a unique Hot Shot passing challenge competition which will see campers win rugby balls for being the highest scorer in their age group and the overall top scorer receive a free coaching session at their club or school.
Taking place on day one of the camps and supported by members of the Leeds Rhinos squad who have passed on some passing tips, campers have taken on the Leeds Rhinos Foundation skills zone inflatable for the competition which after three days of competition, has now seen Burrow's score been beaten.
After showing children on the Hunslet camp a few tips and taking on the challenge himself, Burrow posted a score of 60 points from his six passes but has this week seen his score surpassed by current overall leader from the Dewsbury Celtic Camp, Aiden Barlow who scored a fantastic 70 points.
Camp competition standings so far are as follows:
Hunslet Club Parkside, 3rd and 4th August:
Harry Pratt – Aged 6-8 – 40 points
Dillon Strudwick – Aged 9-11 – 30 points
Dewsbury Celtic, 7th and 8th August
Dylan Afoa-Peterson – Aged 6-8 – 45 points
Aiden Barlow – Aged 9-11 – 70 points
Siddal ARLFC, 9th and 10th August
Nathan Hodgson – Aged 6-8 – 35 points
Louie Pemberton – Aged 9-11 – 55 points
With four more camps to go this summer there is still plenty of opportunity to win a free coaching session with Rob or a rugby ball for being the high scorer on your camp. Should more than one child get the same top score they will be invited to a Rhinos game to go head to head with each other to determine the overall winner.
The competition will continue to run at all the multi camps, which take place at the following venues:
– Oulton ARLFC, 14th and 15th August
– Barrow Island, 16th and 17th August
– Keighley Albion ARLFC, 24th and 25th August
– Drighlinton ARLFC, 31st August and 1st September
All camp attendees will receive:
– Rhinos camp t-shirt and water bottle
– Chance to meet Rhinos players
– Ticket to the Rhinos v Salford game in the Super 8s
– Entry into the Hot Shot passing Challenge
