Rhinos Talent Pathway Coaching Opportunities

Leeds Rhinos Foundation are looking to recruit a small number of committed and dynamic junior Rugby League coaches to coach on the clubs Under 15’s and 16’s (Boys) Rhinos Talent Pathway programme (Feb 2025 – Easter 2025).

Working with players from the community game, coaches will support players around technical, tactical, movement and mental skills development in additional to playing opportunities against other clubs / foundations.

Coaches from the local area working in community club environments are preferable but applications from outside the local area will also be considered.

The following positions are available:

  • Head Coaches: Leading of planning and delivery of sessions including mentoring of assistant / development coaches.
  • Assistant / Development Coaches: Assisting with delivery of sessions.

These positions are voluntary roles, in return for their efforts candidates will benefit from the opportunity of working in a professional club environment and the formal and informal personal development opportunities this provides in additional to potential coaching pathway opportunities.

Commitment required is as follows:

– Attend Coach Moderation Day on Monday 17th February.

– Be available to coach on at least 5 of the following Monday evenings sessions at Leeds Rhinos Bartercard Training Complex, Kirkstall:

  • Monday 24th February
  • Monday 31st February
  • Monday 3rd March
  • Monday 10th March
  • Monday 17th March
  • Monday 24th March
  • Monday 31st March
  • Monday 7th April

– Coaches working on the programme will be required to work to the following programme coaching philosophy:

We use a number of coaching styles based on the needs of the individual players and learners and not the style of coaches. Our preferred style is guided discovery and fits with our aim of player ownership, problem solving and developing player intelligence. The utilisation of games based practiceexploration and effective questioning are key pillars of our coaching methodology.
