Rhinos star announced for next Coach Education Workshop

Leeds Rhinos Foundation are delighted to announce that Leeds Rhinos star Rob Burrow will deliver the second Coach Education workshop of this season’s programme along with Leeds Rhinos Assistant Coach Barry Eaton on the 11th January at Leeds Rugby Academy.

Burrow, who will be entering his 16th season with the Rhinos in 2017, has won every major honour with the club as part of the 'Golden Generation' and is experienced in coaching youth rugby as part of the club's coaching staff alongside team mate Carl Ablett, where both players have worked with the Rhinos scholarship side.

Now in it's 6th year, Coach Education, which is organised by Leeds Rhinos Foundation as part of the charity’s Rugby League Development plan sponsored by MEARS, provides community coaches with current and professional coaching information, techniques and an opportunities to share best practice and caters for coaches working with all age groups and abilities, from juniors, open age, right through to the elite level.

The programme, which the club's mission to develop the playing and coaching of rugby league in the city, is led by Rhinos Head Coach Brian McDermott alongside staff such as Barry Eaton, Jason Davidson, Ian Kirke as well as guest deliverers from Leeds Rhinos first team squad.

In the latest edition of the programme, due to take place on 11th January, Rob Burrow will work with Assistant Coach Barry Eaton to deliver the second position specific workshop of the season on ‘Coaching back plays and kicking’.

The workshop is free of charge and available to community rugby league coaches and will involve example drills and observation with the Rhinos scholarship squad.
