Rhinos Development Academy sweep aside Salford in latest victory

Leeds Rhinos Development Academy cemented their position in the top four of the Colleges Premier Division with a 36-10 win over Salford Red Devils Development Academy on Wednesday.

The side, who are run in partnership between Leeds Rhinos Foundation and Leeds City College, ran in seven tries to claim their second victory on the spin and a league double over their Greater Manchester rivals.

Despite falling behind in the opening minutes of the match, the Rhinos showed great fighting spirit and turned in the style as Beevers (2), Wepener (2), Flanagan, Davidson and Dargan all crossed in what was one of their most complete performances of the season.

It was also the perfect way to lay down a marker ahead of next week’s College Knockout Cup clash against the same opposition, which will take place on Wednesday 4th March at Leeds Rugby Academy (2pm Kick Off). For Dan Hardy’s men, it will be a key fixture as they step up the search for some silverware to top off a fine first year in the new Development Academy set-up.
