It’s not long now until school is out for summer and if you are looking for the perfect activity for your children over the holidays why not book them a place on Leeds Rhinos Summer Camp, which are supported by CDI solutions and Wakefield & District Health & Community Support LTD.
The camps offer a variety of activities so don’t worry if playing Rugby League isn’t your child’s cup of tea there is a range of camps to satisfy all!
These camps are fun for all involved and are run by the staff members from the Leeds Rhinos Foundation along with a helping hand from the Leeds Rhinos players. As well as getting the chance to enjoy playing sport in a fun and safe environment and meeting new friends, everyone on the camp will get a Leeds Rhinos camp t-shirt and gym bag, a chance to meet the Rhinos first team players and a ticket to a Rhinos match where they will take part in a pitch parade.
There are seven rugby camps which all run for two days and will be held at Hunslet Warriors, Catterick Crusaders RL, East Leeds ARLFC, Waterhead ARLFC, Dewsbury Celtic, Heworth ARLFC and Rochdale Mayfield ARLFC. There is one activity camp at Temple Moor which runs for five days and there are also two dance camps, one of which runs for two days and a second which runs for five days. They take place at Ralph Thoresby and Temple Moor.
Just in case you still are not sure you are going to enjoy the camp here’s what Josh Parkin, aged 7 had to say about his experience at a previous camp, “I love going to the Rhinos camps in the school
holidays. I get to learn lots of new rugby skills as well as get to meet some of the Rhinos players. We also get some great free goodies.”
Lee Parkin, 21, who is the Head of PE at John Smeaton Academy also praised the Rhinos camps, commenting: “The Rhinos camps are a fantastic way for children to get further involved in the great game of Rugby League. They are exceptionally well run and well-staffed by professionals who really enthuse the youngsters so that they all enjoy the sessions. The added bonus of regular first teamers making guest appearances is a real highlight for the children. I thoroughly recommend the Rhinos Camps and believe that they are tremendous value for money.”
Leeds Rhinos player, Josh Walters, helped out at the camps in Easter this year and believes they are a great way for children to spend their school holidays: “This year I helped out at an activity camp and a rugby camp. I thoroughly enjoyed both camps and was kept busy all day whilst enjoying it myself along with all the other attendees.
“The activity camp was held at Ralph Thoresby School. I attended with Jimmy Keinhorst and we took part in competing against each other in team games throughout the afternoon and then took part in a signing session and also a question and answer session. The rugby camp at Oulton Raiders was also great fun and I was joined by seven other members of the Leeds Rhinos first team. Here we each were allocated training drills, assisted and also took part with the running of the drill.
“Both camps were blessed with glorious sunshine and plenty of laughs. I’d highly recommend coming along and spending time at a Rugby, activity or dance camp this summer if not for anything else the guaranteed fun.”
