Prince Harry to visit Sky Try Rugby League Festival in Leeds

Prince Harry will conduct his first official engagement as Patron of the Rugby Football League when he visits Leeds next Thursday.

His Royal Highness will travel to Headingley Carnegie Stadium on the afternoon of Thursday, July 6 to attend a Sky Try Rugby League Festival, which is part of a seven-year programme designed to get more than 700,000 children from Primary and Secondary schools across the country playing Rugby League.

The festival will see eight and nine year olds from seven local primary schools in Leeds take part in seven-a-side Touch Rugby League games.

The activities will be led by local coaches from the Leeds Rhinos Foundation who will be assisted by Rugby Football League Rugby Director Kevin Sinfield MBE, England Assistant Coach Paul Sculthorpe MBE and England and Leeds Rhinos players Kallum Watkins and Ryan Hall.

Prince Harry will hear more about the Sky Try programme before meeting children, coaches and players on the pitch.
