Leeds Rhinos Foundation Director of Operations who is taking on 15 marathons in 15 days for charity in 30 days time to raise money for charity says preparation is well on track after completing a 7.4 mile race through the Sabino Canyons in the Coronado National Forest of Arizona.
Bowman will begin his endurance test on 12th May starting with the Brathay 10 in 10 running event which involves runners completing 10 marathons over 10 consecutive days around England's longest lake, Windermere.
After completing the event, which only 94 runners have completed since it started in 2007, Bob will then be branching out on his own to complete a further five marathons on route from Lake Windermere to Headingley Carnegie Stadium and the Rhinos home fixture against Warrington Wolves.
Bowman, who turned 50 in 2016, has set himself a target of raising £25,000 to help disadvantaged youngsters in Leeds, with his money supporting Leeds Rhinos Foundation and the Brathay Trust.
Bowman commented on his training progress, which last week included 7.4 miles of Arizona desert trail across the Sabino Canyon:
"With just over a month to go I am now in the final phase of my preparation for the 15 Marathons in 15 days challenge. Even a holiday has allowed me little respite……
"The holiday was booked well before I decided to embark on this challenge, so for the past couple of weeks I have been 'training' in the lovely surroundings of Tucson Arizona. Taking part in a local race accompanied by my wife Steph. The Sabino Canyon sunset run was very enjoyable and we got lots of chants of Leeds, Leeds, Leeds along the course! "
