With the PlusNet Yorkshire Marathon less than 10 weeks away, the Leeds Rhinos Foundation are urging anyone interested in taking part in the event to take up one of the Leeds Rhinos Foundation’s charity places to avoid missing out one of Yorkshire’s most popular races.
The Yorkshire PlusNet Marathon taking place on Sunday 11th October has proven to be one of the most sought after races in the region again in 2015, after selling out for the third year running following the official launch of the event back in May.
The PlusNet Yorkshire Marathon has quickly become a household name in charity running and for those unlucky enough to miss out on a general entry place, there is still the possibility of taking part in the race by taking up one of 20 Leeds Rhinos Foundation charity places – with a fundraising package full of benefits.
As part of the fundraising package offered by the Leeds Rhinos Foundation, runners are expected to raise a minimum of £500 and are entitled to:
- A pre-marathon pasta party at Leeds17 restaurant, in Alwoodley.
- Pre-marathon training session, for group training run and advice from the conditioning staff of the Leeds Rhinos.
- A unique 'Leeds Rhinos Foundation' shirt for race day.
- Post-marathon invitation (runner + guests) to an exclusive evening event to celebrate your achievement.
- Enjoy supper in the company of Leeds Rhinos players and coaching staff, Leeds Rhinos CEO Gary Hetherington and a surprise guest
- Invitation following the event to see first-hand the charity work in action that your fundraising has enabled.
- Fundraising support and advice throughout your training.
The marathon is staged by Marathon Yorkshire Ltd – a sister company to Jane Tomlinson's Run For All, the organisation behind a string of popular charity road races across the North. Run For All is part of the lasting legacy of the late Jane Tomlinson CBE who raised almost £2m for charity through a series of endurance challenges, despite being diagnosed with incurable cancer.
