Motivate returns to Headingley Stadium!

Leeds Rhinos Foundation is delighted to announce the relaunch of our Motivate programme, for people living with Rheumatoid Arthritis in Leeds.

MOTIVATE is a fun, accessible and exciting nutrition and physical activity programme run in partnership with Leeds Teaching Hospital NHS Trust. The 12-week course offers people living with Rheumatoid Arthritis the chance to make small health changes through tailored, weekly physical activity and nutrition sessions at Headingley Stadium.

Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) affects around 1% of the population. In addition to joint damage, RA increases risk for heart disease and weakens muscles. Appropriate nutrition and exercise may help reduce these side-effects and improve joint function.

MOTIVATE therefore aims to provide people with nutrition knowledge and opportunities to get active and engage in exercise in a safe and friendly environment.

Ben Berry, Project and Partnership Manager for Leeds Rhinos Foundation, said: “Our sessions are engaging, informative and fun, to give people the best chance at leading a healthier lifestyle.”

“Each participant attends a health consultation prior to attending the course to allow us to ensure the sessions are tailored to them.”

“I would encourage anyone who is interested, to get in touch, so you can meet our friendly staff and join the programme. We’ve already begun our first cohort and will be running 3 more across the next 6 months.”
