Methley Warriors ARLFC, members of the Leeds Rugby Foundation Club Ambassador Scheme, recently benefited from a competition ran by the Foundation.
As part of LRF’s ongoing relationship with RL Cares, we were asked to find a worthy home for a set of RLWC 2013 post protectors, which we advertised to all our ambassador clubs. Fourteen clubs applied and the lucky winners were Methley Warriors, and it turns out they couldn’t of gone to a better home as Methley Warriors Secretary Deborah Robbins explains:
“Methley Warriors have been around for over 10 years and have remained a small and friendly club. In the recent years we have expanded in both the number of teams, but also in our facilities. We have been allocated our own training fields on Church Lane in Methley where we have 2 full size pitches at our disposal however we only had 1 set of full size post protectors. This meant we were unable to have 2 games running consecutively so being awarded the World Cup Post Protectors was fantastic. The kids feel really proud that we are now able to use these and pictured is our Under 15s squad who were the first to use them last weekend. “
Leeds Rugby Foundation would like to thank Chris Rostron at RL Cares for donating the post protectors to the Leeds Rugby Foundation helping us support the community clubs in Leeds.
