The first of the HeRLegacy sessions, in partnership with the National Lottery, were delivered in Hull, St Helens and Whitehaven last weekend – with a total of more than 250 girls of all ages taking the chance to show their skills to England stars Jodie Cunningham, Georgia Wilson, Carrie Roberts, Zoe Harris, Danielle Anderson, Keara Bennett, Beth Stott and Vicky Whitfield.

On Saturday 3rd December one of six more sessions will take place in Leeds with Rhinos and England Women’s players Georgia Roche and Keara Bennett making a special appearance during the two rugbt sessions. Alongside this players can also attend an online session on Thursday December 15. All the sessions are completely free, and open to girls aged 5-16. The Leeds session will take place at Football World from 11am and 12pm. Jodie Cunningham, the RFL’s National Women and Girls Development Manager, said: “I’m so excited about the opportunities on the back of the World Cup, and last weekend was a fantastic start. “To see so many girls turning up to Hull, St Helens and Whitehaven to get involved in Rugby League was really inspiring for all of us. “And we’ve already had a massive amount of interest in the other sessions we’ve got coming up over the next week. “We’ve tried to arrange the sessions for the towns and cities where Women’s Rugby League already has a strong presence – places like York, where they have made such amazing progress in two seasons in the Women’s Super League, finishing top of the table in 2022. “I know Grace and Tara are excited to see some new young talent on Thursday night – and wearing my hat as a World Cup ambassador, it’s great to see that the York session will take place at York St John University, which was one of the facilities helped by CreatedBy funding. “Tara Jones and Emily Rudge will be at the Warrington session also on Thursday, then Georgia Roche and Keara Bennett at the Leeds session on Saturday morning. “Georgia and I really enjoyed our trip up to Whitehaven on Saturday so we’re looking forward to going back up to Cumbria for the Barrow session next Thursday – especially after Barrow made such a great impact in their first season in the Super League. “And for any girls who can’t make the physical sessions – or even if anyone wants another chat – we’ve got the Online session on December 15.” Full details and booking forms Leeds Venue – Football World, Pontefract Lane, Leeds, LS9 0RA Date/Time – Saturday 3rd December 11-12pm Age Groups – 5-8yrs and 9-12yrs Detail – All age groups delivered at the same time which will include a 45 minute session plus time for a Q&A to interact and have photos with the England players England Players – Georgia Roche and Keara Bennett   Online Session Venue – Online via Microsoft Teams Date/Time – Thursday 15th December 6-7pm Age Groups – Open to all Detail – Online session hosted by Jodie Cunningham with a number of the England Women talking about their experiences in the World Cup with opportunities to submit questions ahead of the time or ask the girls in the session. ?
