Leeds Underdogs to host trial day for new players

Fancy playing Rugby League? Come down to the Leeds Underdogs trial day on Sunday 15th February

Local community club Leeds Underdogs are hosting a "Come and Try Rugby League Day" this Sunday 15th February for new players.

The event will give kids of all ages from 3 to 93, a chance to come down and have a go at Rugby League. Their coaches from both the junior levels and open age teams will be around to help you enjoy the morning. The event will run from 10am to 12 noon at Bedquilts Sports Ground, Adel, Leeds, LS16 8BX.

Players will learn a number of skills and there will be a few games towards the end of the morning, so whether you’re young or old, male or female the day will be enjoyable for all. Rugby League isn’t just about big hits, it has many levels nowadays, from full contact to tag and touch rugby. From Masters Rugby, which is a mixture of both full contact and touch played by the over 35’s, to Cub/Pup Rugby which is played by the under 6’s and is all about having fun.

Even if you don’t want to have a go at playing rugby you can still come along and meet some members of their Committee and there are many ways you can get involved and they will also have the Challenge Cup on display so don’t forget your cameras.

To mark the day, we will be joined by the one and only, Ronnie the Rhino, and two members of the Leeds Rhinos first team squad – Josh Walters and Elliot Minchella, who will be around to help with the training.

After training, attendees will be able to move to their club house, where they can look at the facilities they have and some of their committee and coaches will be on hand to answer any questions.   There will also have raffle tickets for this year’s Leeds Rhinos Foundation Grand Draw on sale.
