The Leeds Rhinos Foundation are offering supporters of Rugby League a chance to win a prize by guessing Leeds Rhinos President Harry Jepson’s best Leeds-born Rugby League team of all time.
The highlight of the successful city of Leeds ex-players reunion lunch last weekend, which included former stars from Bramley, Hunslet and Leeds, was the selection by Leeds Rhinos President Harry Jepson OBE of his, ‘greatest side of Leeds-born players who went on to play for either Leeds, Hunslet or Bramley.'’
The debate as to who should be included before Harry’s choice was revealed, at the climax of the afternoon, was so well received that the Leeds Rhinos Foundation has put up two prizes, firstly for fans who can guess Harry’s final combination – which included a substitute back and forward – or to come up with their own for Harry to judge.
The prize for the person who gets closest to Harry’s line-up is to attend a home game as guests of the Leeds Rhinos Foundation in the Premier Suite including a pre-match meal, centre tickets for the match and the chance to meet Harry and discuss the nominations, while for person who comes up with the best alternative, there will be a Leeds Rhinos ball with their selections written on, signed by Harry.
Leeds Rhinos Foundation Director of Operations Bob Bowman commented, “It is always a privilege to be present at an event when Harry uses his encyclopaedic knowledge of rugby league to entertain and educate the audience.
“He spent a considerable amount of time working on his selection, which is typically unusual and sure to cause some debate! Harry is a great supporter of the Leeds Rhinos Foundation and this competition is a great way for fans to put their knowledge to the ultimate test.”
