The Leeds Rhinos Foundation’s Winter Tuesday Touch programme will return on the 6th October offering a weekly social rugby session for players of all abilities
The social rugby initiative organised by Leeds Rhinos Foundation's Community Clubs Development Officer, Sam Horner along with volunteer admin staff and referees, will return to its familiar Tuesday night slot after breaking for the summer outdoor programme at Leeds Rugby Academy and the school holidays.
The indoor programme at Leeds Sports Centre, offers social rugby for people of all abilities, ages and genders, in what has become a popular weekly event for both casual and amateur rugby league players in the city.
The inclusive sessions have regularly received over 40 players, many of whom are long term members of the programme and play touch and masters rugby in the summer, using the winter sessions to keep fit and enjoy socialising with other members.
The sessions that run weekly from 7pm until 9pm, are open to players aged 14 and above with players encouraged to come along on their own and join in with a team, or can recruit their friends and work colleagues to form a team for the evening. Sessions cost £4.
The upcoming period, starting on Tuesday 6th October, runs up until Christmas, before returning in January and running until the end of March at the multi-purpose Leeds Sports Centre facility. The sports centre is fully equipped with parking, refreshments, changing facilities and bar all available.
