Another week is here and the Leeds Rhinos Foundation are out in the community changing lives through sport. Here is a rundown of events on this week in Leeds
Leeds Rhinos Foundation in partnership with Try Tag Rugby are offering a new weekly Tag Rugby League competition at John Smeaton Academy with another FREE taster session this week (13th September).
Ran by Try Tag Rugby Yorkshire, the taster sessions will be a pre-cursor to the new Autumn league starting at John Smeaton Leisure Centre from Tuesday 20th September, which will run for 8 weeks.
The taster sessions are a perfect chance for adult players (male & female aged 14+), who have never played Tag Rugby before, to have a go and see what the fun and friendly rugby format is all about.
Rugby League is a great way to stay fit and have plenty of fun. In addition to the John Smeaton league opportunities exist at a number of our weeknight leagues including Oulton (Monday), Alwoodley (Monday), Bingley (Tuesday) and Weetwood Sports Park (Wednesday).
Players of all sporting abilities and rugby experience levels, including complete rugby novices are all welcome, with the taster sessions providing an easy introduction to the game and suitable for all levels of fitness.
Following the taster sessions, players can then sign up for an 8-week Autumn League at John Smeaton Leisure Centre with players able to sign up as individuals, small groups or full teams for the 7 a 'side format incorporating 4 males and 3 females on the pitch at a time.
If you sign up as an individual or group, you will be placed with other individuals and groups to make a team. Each team will play one 40-minute game each week and this will be followed by a weekly after match social where players will get the chance to have a drink and a bite to eat with their team mates and opposition in a local pub.
