Leeds Rhinos Foundation to launch new Rugby League Development Plan

Leeds Rhinos Foundation are inviting representatives from community clubs to join them for the launch of their new Rugby League Development Plan for 2023-2027 on 23rd January at Headingley Stadium, 7pm.

Over the course of the evening the charity will outline their vision for the development of rugby league in the city and how they can work with local clubs to grow the game and improve standards. Details about the support the charity can offer to community clubs in regards to player recruitment and CPD opportunities for club volunteers will be covered as well as the opportunities for coach development and Pathway opportunities for local coaches, including a bespoke mentoring programme led by Leeds Rhinos head coach Rohan Smith.

The night will also include a range of guest speakers, including Gary Hetherington, Jamie Jones-Buchanan, Robert Hicks and Women’s head coach and Leeds Rhinos Foundation’s women and girls development officer, Lois Forsell, who will talk about girls participation and pathway opportunities.

Alongside information on the plan for development of boys and girls rugby league, staff from the charity will also talk about the growth of the PDRL, LDSL and Wheelchair games and where they can support the advancement of these, by attracting more players and offering coach support.
