Leeds Rhinos Foundation to commemorate ten year anniversary with celebration dinner

Join special guests for a celebration of the Leeds Rhinos Foundation

Leeds Rhinos Foundation, in partnership with Leeds City Council, will host a special fundraising celebration dinner at Leeds Town Hall on Wednesday 21st October to mark the charity’s ten year anniversary and also to look ahead to Leeds Rhinos’ upcoming fixture against New Zealand.

The black tie event, will be hosted with Leeds City Council to mark ten years of success for the charity and will aim to raise funds to ensure they are able to continue their excellent work in the city.

The evening will also provide a Civic welcome to the touring New Zealand team who will be in the city to take on Leeds Rhinos two days later.  Former Rhinos boss Brian McClennan, current New Zealand coach Stephen Kearney and businessman, fundraiser and rugby league supporter Sir Peter Leitch, affectionately known as ‘The Mad Butcher’  will be guests of honour at the dinner and they will be joined by members of the Leeds Rhinos and New Zealand playing squad.

Bob Bowman, Director of Operations at the Leeds Rhinos Foundation, commented: ‘The Leeds Rhinos Foundation is 10 years young! We are excited to celebrate this milestone in such a wonderful venue and appreciate the support from Leeds City Council. Our first ten years have been a journey of tremendous success where we have held dear to our ambition to ‘Change lives through sport.’

“It will be a spectacular evening and we are appreciative of our guests from New Zealand who are supporting the evening so uniquely.

“The dinner will be an event not to be missed and offer attendees the opportunity to enjoy great food, great company and great memories whilst supporting the Foundation to continue its work long into the future.”

To showcase Leeds Rhinos Foundation’s wide variety of work, the charity has been working with communications agency, Brass Agency, on a short film which will be premiered on the night.

This is a rare event which brings together the business, civic and sporting representatives of the city, to what promises to be a spectacular evening.

Gary Hetherington, Leeds Rhinos Chief Executive added:  “It promises to be a terrific occasion in an iconic setting with so much to celebrate and look forward to.”
